About Well & Tap

Well & Tap helps US homeowners work out what is in their water and which whole-house system, if any, is worth buying. We cover city water and private wells, and we focus on point-of-entry systems because that is where the money and the confusing claims are.

What we do

We read the documents buyers rarely get to: EPA test results, NSF, WQA and IAPMO certification listings, product manuals and spec sheets, warranty terms, and owner complaints. We turn EPA's raw PFAS data into a lookup anyone can use. When a maker's claim is not backed by a certification or published test data, we say so.

What we do not do

We do not run our own lab, and we do not pretend to. You will not find invented "we tested it for 90 days" stories here. Where hands-on experience matters, such as installation difficulty or backwash noise, we rely on manuals and owner reports and say that is where it came from.

How we make money

When you buy through some links on this site we earn a commission from the seller. That is how the site is paid for. Commission rates differ between brands, and we do not let that decide rankings; a system without a certification or with a poor warranty does not become a top pick because it pays more.
